Loyal reader Scot send me the link to this great video.

I’m afraid the connection speed here is very slow at the moment, so I haven’t been able to watch all the episodes without putting the company’s IT system at risk.
But you can — click on the link below and watch other episodes by searching in the right-hand column on YouTube.

What do you think?
I think “fabulous.” But is that only me? Please comment below if you’d like to. I wish I’d seen this series when it had first aired.
Best wishes to you, Carl

Fantastic down to earth approach to boatbuilding – the sign of true craftsmanship. This programme was the inspiration for Cathy Mac Aleavey’s Shannon One Design No178, which she built with Jimmy and which features in the latest issue of Wooden Boat. Just in case anyone missed the link!

I am always impressed and delighted by the quality of television production in the British isles. This is a gem, and I can’t help thinking it was inspiring for a generation of Irish craftsmen who are today re-enlivening the tradition of wooden boat building in their land. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
I see many more episodes of “Hands”, which if not quite as alluring as this one, look worthy of a watch.
